The AuditCast is here to help answer the endless amounts of questions that come with working in Public Accounting. I have put together a series of Podcasts to help give you a quick high level understanding of how to audit specific areas, navigating personalities, recruiting, CPA Exams, Work/Life balance, travel tips, Excel/Technology tips, and tons of other stuff I've had to figure out on my own.
I started this because during my first few years in Public Accounting, I recall spending hours searching through Codification guidance, firm guidance, publications, and all the other research tools to find simple answers I was looking for. I even went to Google a few times and searched, "how to audit (fill in the blank)" and nothing would come up. So I decided to do something about it and help the next generation out. Since I often had more questions than just "how to audit ___", like "How to set up a memo?" or "How am I going to get through another busy season?", I thought I would add episodes with as many of the work-lessons I've learned over the years as I can remember. If there's a topic you would like to hear about, or hear more about, please reach out on twitter or on the blog page!
The way it works is I've posted a series of very short podcasts to iTunes and our ShoutEngine page. They are 100% free and run approximately 10-15 minutes. They are segregated by subject, so you can browse and find the one you want. This is a great tool to utilize prior to starting procedures over a certain area. My goal is to not interfere with your work day or efficiency, that's why the episodes are short and to the point. Also, I did them in the podcast format because we read too much as it is. We just don't have time for that.
